In 1993, the first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) took place in Denver, Colorado. This event took fighters from different martial arts disciplines and pitted them against each other in a single-elimination tournament. Within the first years of the new sport, one man emerged as the ultimate fighting champion. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master and member of the legendary Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family, Royce Gracie dominated three of the first four UFC tournaments.

Our head instructor, Ranard Brown, received his black belt under 7th-degree Coral Belt and Jiu-Jitsu Master Luiz Palhares. He also studied Gracie jiu-jitsu for 14 years under UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie. In 2017, Ranard earned the Gold Medal in the Black Belt division at the 2017 International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Switzerland Open. Ranard has also coached UFC and MMA professionals in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other martial arts.
